Our school is very proactive regarding behaviour and have reduced our existing school values down to 4 easy to understand school expectations. These expectations are what we expect every child our school to uphold. They form the foundations of our Positive behaviour management program. Every student and staff member have had explicit teachings around these expectations (how and what they look like from Prep through to year 7).
The 4 expectations are:
- Be respectful.
- Be responsible.
- Be safe.
- Be a learner.
Wallangarra State School always promotes positive behaviour which in turn will achieve the best educational outcome for every student. The 4 school expectations promote our high standard of behaviour and these expectations are displayed throughout the school for students, staff, parents and visitors to see.
If students follow the school expectations, there will be improved behaviour, improved effort which leads to improved academic outcomes.
These certificates are given to students who received an A or B in effort in every subject area at the end of each term. This is from every teacher who teachers them in a key learning area (KLA). During each term, students will strive for the bronze, silver award, gold award and in term 4 the platinum award.
