Wallangarra State School was established in 1888 with a successful centenary held in 1988 and an equally successful 125th celebration in September 2013. Over the years the school population has fluctuated with the current enrolment at 55 students ranging from Prep to year 6. The school draws students from Wallangarra, Jennings and Tenterfield, NSW.

Wallangarra State School is located on the Qld NSW border on the Southern Granite Belt. The school has 4 full time teachers including a teaching principal and a part time teacher who teaches 4 days a week as well as three permanent aides and two casual aides. The school is very well maintained and staff and students work hard to ensure that Wallangarra State

School remains a great school to educate your child both socially and academically.

Wallangarra State School is a member of the Granite Belt State Schools and students participate in inter school sporting competitions with other schools from the Granite Belt along with other curriculum activities.
